The 2001 Goodwill Games gave Brisbane the opportunity to shine in the international spotlight. INEX team members were involved in all non-sporting events from its launch in 1999 to the closing ceremony in 2001.

INEX principle, Patrick Burns, was responsible for the development and delivery of all Protocol, Ceremonies and Special Events for the games. The scope of the role was enormous – including responsibility for the opening and closing ceremonies, medal ceremonies, corporate hospitality across all sporting venues and a 10-day entertainment program named: ‘Red – Paint the Town’
